At La Virgule, our commitment is twofold: we work for human well-being, but also for the preservation of our planet.
An inspiring story
1% for the Planet was launched in 2002 by Patagonia founder Yvon Chouinard and Blue Ribbon Flies founder Craig Mathews. Both companies were already donating a portion of their annual sales to associations fighting to preserve the environment. Together, they decided to found a non-profit organization and create a recognizable and engaging label: 1% for the Planet.
A dual commitment: to prosper while preserving our planet
The aim of this project is to convince other companies to join the organization. The aim is to demonstrate that a company can not only grow, but also fully commit itself to environmental causes such as the fight against climate change, the promotion of healthy food systems, the responsible management of land and water resources, the reduction of pollution and the preservation of the diversity of flora and fauna.
1% for the Planet today
Today, like Patagonia, Cotopaxi, Peak Design and 6,000 others in over 90 countries, we are committed to donating 1% of our annual sales. Today, more than $350 million has been raised for associations committed to the environment.
La Virgule committed to a circular world
It was an obvious choice for us to become a member of 1% for the Planet, as making the world of sport and circular outdoor activities is the foundation of our project and the reason for our involvement. We actively support initiatives that aim to preserve Mother Nature. It's also an opportunity for us to raise awareness and exchange ideas with our community on current and important issues, so that everyone can enjoy our beautiful planet to the full, today and tomorrow.
We're delighted to be part of this global collective, and to enable this one percent to support those who fight every day in the quest for a healthier planet for all.
